1. Introduction
RideCall ("we", "us", or "our") operates the RideCall mobile application and the website ridecall.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use our services. RideCall is a social app for motorcycle riders with features for organizing rides, recording routes, a photo feed, chat, an events calendar, badges, and challenges.
2. Data We Collect
We may collect the following categories of data:
- Account and profile data: name, email, username, profile photo, city, country, and motorcycle information.
- Ride data: routes, waypoints, participants, chat messages, and ride status.
- Location data: GPS coordinates during tracking and live locations during group rides, when the user has granted consent.
- Content: photos, posts, comments, and chat messages.
- Technical data: device type, app version, crash logs, and analytics.
- Subscription data: subscription status via RevenueCat and the App Store (without direct access to full payment card details).
3. How We Use Data
We use personal data to:
- Create and manage accounts.
- Organize rides, tracking, and social features.
- Show live locations of participants during a ride.
- Send notifications about rides, chat, and events.
- Manage subscriptions and access to paid features.
- Improve security, performance, and the user experience.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Basis (GDPR)
We process data on the following grounds: performance of a contract (providing the service), legitimate interest (security and improvements), consent (location, notifications, and marketing if enabled), and legal obligations.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with service providers that help us operate:
- Firebase (Google) – authentication, database, storage, messaging.
- Google Maps – routes and maps.
- RevenueCat – subscription management.
- Apple – in-app purchases and push notifications.
6. Retention and Security
Data is retained while the account is active or as long as needed to provide the service. We apply technical and organizational security measures, including Firestore access rules and encrypted connections.
7. Your Rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your data. You may withdraw consent for location and notifications from your device or app settings. For California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
8. Children
RideCall is not intended for individuals under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. International Transfers
Data may be processed outside your country through our cloud providers. We apply appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable law.
